Run-D.M.C, Walk This Way

I remember reading some interviews with Steve Tyler in the 90s in which he tried to disown this superb collaboration but to be fair to him, this was before people really appreciated the power of a so-called ‘crossover’ song. However, if you look at where Run-D.M.C are today compared to Aerosmith I think you’d agree the rockers come out tops. Was it Rick Rubin’s decision? Wouldn’t surprise me….he always seemed to have the big picture firmly in focus. I love the expression on Tyler’s face at 0’52 as he’s about to launch into the vocals before being rudely interrupted.
