Sham 69, Angels with Dirty Faces

I was too young to catch Sham 69 in their prime but I first heard this song on a documentary about the UK’s punk years sometime in the nineties. I liked Jimmy Pursey’s cheeky chappie persona with the rough edge and wide staring eyes. The whole package has been described by some Wikipedia creep rather sniffily as “inarticulate political populism”… there must be many bands in the world who would give their right arm for that sort of moniker and more than a few leading vocalists round the world who’ve taken their cue from Jimmy’s style and demeanour. It’s good to see he’s still well and packing in the crowds.
