The Sunnyboys, Alone With You
I first discovered The Sunnyboys on Mike ‘Chopper’ Read’s very well crafted compilation Every Day Above Ground is a Good Day (hard to get nowadays but well worth it). Like the Hoodoo Gurus they’re typical very catchy oz-rock but there’s a darker edge to them exemplified by the none-too-cheery and distinctly un-Bondi-like line “…all I have is alcohol so let me go.” I like the way the bassist steals a kiss from some lass in the crowd at 1’57 . . . when you’re miming a song on a TV show why not multi-task?

Are you sure the “girl” in the crowd at 1’57 is really a girl? Looks like a male cross dresser to me! Anyhow … Scottish referendum … are you a yes or a no?
